The boys’ basketball team kicked off district play in a home matchup against Wimberley on Jan. 12. The Billies dominated this game winning with the final score 65-47 moving them up to 1-0 in district play and 13-2 on the season.

Dillon Rabon had a game-high in points, scoring 19 on the night. Jakob Schandua and Jayden Sanchez each racked up nine points for the Billies. Colby Brasher quickly followed with eight.

Sanchez and Brasher distributed the ball well, as they led the way in the assist column with three a piece.

Rabon got after it on the boards, grabbing nine rebounds in Tuesday’s win. Brasher followed, snagging five rebounds of his own.

It was a defensive effort that made the difference in the ball game, holding the Texans to just 47 points. Leading the charge defensively was Brasher who had four steals on the night, Kade Jenschke. Sanchez and Schandua finished the game with two each, helping the Billies out defensively.

The Billies are currently 13-3 on the season and 1-1 in district after falling short against rival school Boerne Greyhounds in a triple overtime thriller. Looking to bounce back, the Billies face off against Wimberley again as the second round of district play begins on Friday.
