Nurse Kassidy

“I have wanted to be a teacher since I first started nursing school. I thought nursing was what I wanted to do. Then when I started seeing my professors teach, I thought, ‘Nope, that’s where my heart is.’ I did some teaching in nursing school and when I was offered the position as a school nurse to become a teacher, I jumped at the chance. I truly enjoy getting to know the kids, as a school nurse, but I didn’t really get to know them as well as I do. Now that they’re in my class, and I see them every day, I get to know them, their likes, their personalities, and I just love that aspect of my job. I was a student at FHS in 2001. When I graduated, I had no idea what I wanted to do. I knew medical nursing probably, but I didn’t have any direction outside of that. So if I can bring that knowledge to FHS and give my students a wealth of information and careers to choose from, then that is something I didn’t have when I was a student here.
