Molly Pluenneke and Robert Sanchez, were named on Dec. 4 as Commended Students in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Pluenneke and Sanchez placed in the top 50,000 scores of more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2019 competition by taking the 2017 Preliminary SAT/ National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

“I am very happy that Molly and I were acknowledged after all this time,” Sanchez said. “I am very proud of getting that high score. I believe it will be very influential in the remainder of my applications.”

These students represent a valuable national resource and play a key role in Fredericksburg High School’s academic development.

“It is an honor to be recognized for this nationally representative title, and I am so excited to see what doors it opens,” Pluenneke said.
