Fall Sports Wrap-Up
December 3, 2020
A new year is underway for the Billies as they look to have another great year full of accomplishments. Last year, the Billies were able to do many great things: winning a state title, district titles and a year full of many memorable moments.
Varsity football came out the gates fast this year, starting off with a record of 3-1. Playing in a tough district, the Billies have struggled as of late, currently sitting at 5-4. They look to finish strong in their final game to finish the season off on a high note.
Cross country has had a good start, with the boys winning every race so far. Senior Andrew Kendrick has placed first in every race. The girls have done great, winning all but two races with Taylor Grona leading the way, finishing first in all but one race. The boys fought hard in their district meet, winning first and advancing to regionals.
The swim team is back in the pool, only competing in one meet so far. The Billies managed to win several individual medals for different events and relays, resulting in them winning the meet. The swim team is currently preparing for their next meet in Burnet on November 18.
Volleyball is currently sitting at 2-7 in district, winning a tie breaker match against Canyon Lake to ensure a playoff birth.
Tennis is doing their thing. The reigning state champs are currently 9-2 on the year and look to keep the ball rolling in their area match up against Rockport-Fulton on Thursday, October 29.
We wish the best of luck to all these teams as they’re going down the final stretch of the season, which means basketball and soccer are soon to get underway.
