For some people, basketball isn’t just a game. It’s their life, and they work hard to achieve their goals and become a better player.

For freshman Izzy Reeh, basketball isn’t just a way of life, but it is her life. She has tournaments day and night, practices non-stop, and even makes time to help coach her own little dribblers team at Fredericksburg High School.

“I have been playing basketball for 8 years,” Reeh said. “At the moment, I play for one team, but I used to play for two.”

Since she was little, her heart has always been set on basketball. Her coaches have always played a big part in her journey.

“My coaches have definitely had a positive impact on my life,” Reeh said. “They have helped me achieve my goals and make me a better person and better athlete.”

Basketball has always been something very important to Reeh.

What I love about basketball is the team atmosphere,” Reeh said. “I also love the friends you make while playing with each other.”

Reeh’s dad plays a big role in her basketball career.

“My biggest supporter is probably my dad,” Reeh said. “He has seen me at my lowest and my highest and never gives up on me.”

She also has her struggles but never lets that get in the way of her love for basketball.

“My biggest struggle when it comes to basketball is finding time to get in a gym outside of practice,” Reeh said. “Basketball is very chaotic. There is always something going on and usually so many things go on at once.”

Reeh is very confident and excited about the high school team this year.

“I have very high hopes for our team this year and think we can make it very far,” Reeh said. “We need to stick together, keep lifting each other up, and holding each other to a high standard, and we will reach our goals.”
