A once in a lifetime event and the feeling of so many emotions in a day is exciting. Where the room is filled with music and the delicious smell of food, also it is the day, to feel like a princess in a big dress and shimmery tiara with all eyes on you.

For Mariana Gamboa, a sophomore at Fredericksburg High School, there was a feeling of stress and tension, but now she can finally enjoy the day she’s been planning for since childhood-her quinceanera.

“I have been planning this since I was probably eight years old,” Gamboa said.

Gamboa was awaiting her big event for years and now the day has come to celebrate with many people she has invited.

“I regret not starting practices for the dances earlier because I only got a month or a few weeks of practice, and I should’ve started earlier,” Gamboa said.

Gamboa has been tense in the beginning of planning her big day. Not only her, but the close individuals around her have been feeling the same stress. Her mom is worried because of little time, but luckily Gamboa’s dad saves the day by supporting them on decisions.

“Overall I’m excited for my father and daughter dance. I’m hoping my quince plans out well, and everyone enjoys it,” Gamboa said.

It’s a family tradition for Gamboa’s family to celebrate their quinceanera. Almost every female in her family has had their quince. Eventually, Gamboa’s dreams will turn into a reality and is in a hurry to make everything perfect for her special day.

“Planning my quinceanera took a lot of time and patience. I’m grateful for everyone that has helped me with it like my family and friends. I’m hoping everyone enjoys it and not just me,” Gamboa said.
