“I always knew I was going to be a teacher. I just thought I was going to be a kindergarten teacher not a high school teacher. I used to struggle going to class, so my ag teacher would walk me to classes my senior year; every single class period. He would get out of his class two minutes early and wait for me and then walk me to my next class because if he didn’t I would leave. That would probably be my favorite memory. I feel like I’m always my true self. I’m always real; no facade; it’s just me. I think that’s why y’all buy in so hard to my class. There’s no faking me. Marrying my husband and having a baby would be definitely the greatest accomplishment. I love when my students come up and tell me about their day or when they come up and ask, “What do you think my mom would say if I did this?” and it’s seeking that advice and that wisdom from somebody that they could actually trust and open up to. I absolutely love when they do that. They trust me enough to have those conversations; those hard conversations they don’t wanna have with other people.”
