“Advice I would give to my younger self is don’t try so hard for people who
barely know you’re there. You can’t expect anything back from people who
won’t give you the bare minimum. Before going into freshman year at a
new high school, something I was the most nervous about was keeping up
my grades especially in my more demanding classes. My biggest fear is
that one day I won’t be able to forgive people like I do now. I don’t want to
lose the patience I have for people. When being asked what I’m most
passionate about, I’ll always say human physiology and my own growth in
any field that interests me. The hardest part of high school and being
freshman has been Pre-AP biology.”

About the Contributor
Ivy Pfersich is a freshman who attends Fredericksburg High School. Pfersich has a passion for art. She has most interest in ceramic art, painting, and mosaics. In her spare time, she keeps busy by playing on her acoustic guitar or at the gym doing pilates or lifting. Pfersich has N interest in joining powerlifting freshman year. When she's not making art, practicing guitar, or at the gym, she spends her alone time writing poetry or reading. Pfersich’s favorite writer is Sylvia Plath. She often wanders off in her thoughts about her future. She wonders about how she can make the most of her youth and be successful after college. Pfersich collects vinyl and likes to listen to music on her turntable while she paints. She is a very calm and quiet person when you first meet her, but once you personally know Pfersich, she is very outgoing and approachable.
