Lady Billies Basketball Stomp the Greyhounds

Varsity girls’ Battlin Billies faced the Boerne Greyhounds at home on Jan. 8. in their second district game. The infamous school rivalry produced a hard-fought game by both sides. The Billies trumped the Greyhounds with a score of 53-38.

Senior Mia Torres was the leading scorer of the game with a total of 16 points. Sophomore Brittley Bowers led the team in rebounds with five defensive rebounds and three offensive rebounds. Sophomore Brooke Batch, senior Geneva Rose and Torres each had two assists.

Torres and freshman Anabel Araiza led the team in steals with three each. Senior Addie Burlison, sophomore Audrey Spurgin and Torres each had one block during the game. Bowers also took the only charge of the game, giving the Billies momentum to continue their lead.

The Lady Billies face Llano on the Yellowjacket’s home court on Jan. 18. The next home game for the girls is Jan. 22, middle school night, against Bandera.
