The varsity girls’ basketball faced off against Bandera at home in the second round of district on Jan. 22. The Billies beat the Bulldogs with a final score of 75-29.

The girls controlled the game offensively the whole night, outscoring Bandera every quarter. Sophomore Audrey Spurgin led the team with 18 points, senior Mia Torres followed close behind with 17 points. Spurgin also led the team with a total of ten rebounds, six offensive rebounds and four defensive rebounds. Torres led the team with five assists.

Sophomore Brittley Bowers contributed defensively for the Billies with four steals and one charge. Junior Caitie Huff, freshman Anabel Araiza and sophomore Brooke Batch had three deflections each.

The girls are currently 6-0 in district and look to finish the district season undefeated. They next face Wimberley at home on Jan. 28.
