The varsity girls’ basketball team competed away against the school rival, the Boerne Greyhounds. The hostile environment proved tough for the girls to handle. The Billies were down for the first three quarters; however, they demonstrated their grit and strength by pulling away for a 62-53 win Friday night.

Senior Mia Torres controlled the offense with 15 points. Sophomore Brooke Batch and freshman Anabel Araiza closely trailed with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Batch was a beast on the boards with seven rebounds for the night. Torres followed with six rebounds.

Araiza led the defense with six steals and two deflections. Torres had five steals and one deflection. Batch had three steals and two deflections.

The Billies next home game is on Jan. 29 against Wimberley. They will advance to Bi-District playoffs on either Feb. 11-12.
