The Billies traveled to Wimberley on Jan. 17 and look to take on the Wimberley tournament. The Billies struggled to stay healthy and had 3-5 starters out all weekend. The Bilies went 1-2 in the tournament, but look to get back on track once they have a healthy team.

The Billies played Leander Glenn in their first game of the weekend tournament. The Injury bug started to pay dividends during this game as the Billies would fall just short with score being 3-2. Jose Cavazos scored both goals for the Billies.

In the second game of the Wimberley tournament, the Billies faced up against Salado. The Billies had all the momentum in this game, as Adolfo Rivas scored two goals for the Billies, Jose Cordero scored one goal, and Cavazos finished with a final goal for the Billies. The Billies went on to beat Salado 4-2.

To wrap up the weekend, the Billies matched up against Liberty Hill. The Billies didn’t have much left in the tank as they would fall short with the final score 4-0.

”With the wind blowing 20-30 miles an hour, it was hard for either team to get anything going,” Coach Shannon Petsch said. “We made a few mistakes, and they got three goals off that while we could get nothing.  This week we will play S.A. Lanier on Tuesday and Highlands there on Friday.  Hopefully we start to get some players back to see where we stand right now.”
