Golf Teams Get into the Swing of Things

The boys’ varsity golf team played in the state preview at Plum Creek in Kyle. Some of the top 4A teams attended this tournament, who will possibly be going to state in May. The boys placed fourth as they shot a two-round total of 656, playing a total of 36 holes, Feb. 25. 

“Not bad for our first rounds there, for a new venue for us. It was a tough course, and we will play another tournament there before the state tournament, so we will be getting the experience we need, but we got to get there first,” Coach Tim Kaman said. 

They shot a total of 336 the first round and improved to 320 the second round. 

 

The varsity girls’ played at the Flying L golf course in Bandera on Feb. 19. The team placed second overall. 

Allison James shot even par with a 72 for second place medalist. Grace Grona shot a 78 and was fourth medalist. Kayla Feller shot her best round of her short career with a 94, while Madelyn Embrey also had a personal best of 108.
