What’s In Your Cup?
May 13, 2019
On the days where the temperature rises a little too high, and the sweat on your brow gets a bit uncomfortable, a drink to cool you down sounds positively euphoric. But the question remains – where do I go and what do I get? Lucky for you, I have delved into the impossibly endless world of Sonic drinks, coming up with a few options for you to choose from. I took to the internet and found some of the weirdest drink combinations, currently known, that people have conjured up. Following my eager search, I decided I would try these peculiar refreshments for myself. Below, you will find my personal list, ranked out of 10, of these drinks and how I felt after trying them.
Sprite with cranberry and vanilla – This drink was a little sweet for my liking. I would have rather had the cranberry and sprite without the vanilla (c’mon, even Lebron knows what’s up). The vanilla brought a sweetness to the drink that wasn’t needed. Overall, it was a decent drink, and I may buy it again. If I were to buy it, I would probably just get a size small.
Rank: 7.5/10
Strawberry root beer – This odd concoction was definitely sweeter than a root beer should be. The chunks of strawberry you got every other sip didn’t mix with the rootbeer at all. It was an odd feeling to have fruit in a soda. Despite these hiccups, the drink was still okay. Even so, I would not buy it again.
Rank: 5/10
Grape Lemonade – This drink was too sour, and I honestly do not like anything grape flavored. So, having grape in my lemonade isn’t ideal. Plus, who really thinks grape in a lemonade is a good idea anyway? The two flavors just didn’t work mixed together, and I would not buy this drink again.
Rank: 4/10
Watermelon sprite – Surprisingly, this one was not too bad. The carbonation of the sprite overrode the watermelon flavor, which I am usually not a fan of and made for a pretty tasty drink. Still, I don’t love the watermelon flavor and probably never will. I would definitely buy this drink again.
Rank: 8/10
Peach limeade – I’ll start by saying peach and lime? Really. For me personally, peach and lime are not flavors I would put together, and they definitely didn’t blend. Secondly, it was pretty hard to taste the peach, and when it came through, it didn’t taste all that great. I definitely wouldn’t buy this drink again.
Rank: 5/10
Chocolate coke – Have you ever had a tootsie roll? Now, imagine that tootsie roll in a coke. That was exactly what this soda tasted like. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy tootsie rolls, and I enjoy coke. However, I do not enjoy the two together. Chocolate doesn’t belong in coke – period.
Rank: 3/10
Coke with caramel and vanilla – I was nervous for this one. There are certain lines I just don’t feel the need to cross. I’m sure many people enjoy caramel syrup drizzled on their ice cream or on top a milkshake, but poured in a coke? No thank you. However, after a sip of this frightening mixture, I was pleasantly surprised. It tasted nearly like a Frappuccino – a Frappuccino with coke, but a Frappuccino nonetheless. I would definitely buy this sweet drink again.
