The Lady Billies faced off against San Antonio Houston on Jan. 24, in a very lopsided game from the beginning, with the Billies scoring eight first half goals. The Billies finished with 12 goals, making the final score 12-0.

Seven different players managed to score for the for the Billies, leading their team towards victory. Mikaila Childs had a great game, scoring three goals on the day. Karina Gonzalez, Amie Pyka and Chloe Crocker each paired together two goals for the Billies. Itzel Plancarte, Zara Stanton and Avery Semmler each finished with one goal on the day.

The Billies had a number of assists to go along with their 12 goals. Bentley Lees led the way for the Billies with three assists. Pyka and Perla Salazar quickly followed with two assists.

“Tuesday night the girls got to have fun, and everyone was able to work the ball around and get involved with our attack,” Coach Logan Minshew said.  “We took an 8-0 lead into halftime and knew we needed to continue to work to make ourselves better in the second half.  It was exciting for us to be unselfish with the ball and see some girls who haven’t scored this year get on the score sheet.”

The Billies are rolling right now, picking up a win in Corpus Christi. They look to use that as momentum going into district play. The Billies first district game is on Tuesday, Feb. 11 against Wimberley.
