People express themselves in many ways. Some find writing or poetry to be a great way to do that, but some people work a bit differently. People may also express themselves in a more creative way.

An example of that is drawing. Sophomore Bryan Maldonado at Fredericksburg High School dominates the art of art.

“I would say it’s good enough,” Maldonado said when asked what his thoughts were on his own drawing style.

Maldonado is an amazing artist and is always willing to help beginners improve their artistic abilities. He has great advice for beginner artists.

“Don’t quit. One of the best things you can do is just have a lot of confidence, and you can do a lot of things. For basics, learn simple drawings such as simple things, like a ball or trees.”

Sometimes we can get demotivated to the things we love, and that is true for Maldonado’s case.

“My parents always watched me draw, and always saw me draw and they were always intrigued by what I drew and interested in what I could do in the future.” Maldonado said

Just like any other person, Maldonado isn’t perfect. There are a few things he struggles with even as an experienced artist.

“When it comes to traditional art, I don’t do too much color. It is sort of difficult to try and get something you want for a color. If it’s not the right color, then you messed up your drawing. That’s it,” Maldonado said. “That’s the only chance you get.”

According to Maldonado, some aspects of drawing are generally hard for most people like with the human anatomy with the legs or feet. Maldonado would like to continue getting better with his own art with backgrounds and adding landscapes and bigger cities.

And like many, Maldonado has big dreams for the future. “I hope to go to college so I can go to animation school.”

After being an artist for such a long time, Maldonado has one final piece of advice for anyone trying to get into the subject. “Just don’t quit. one of the best things you can do.”
